Rev. Franklyn James
Rev. Franklyn James was called to Zion in July 2019, under a new shared ministry arrangement with St. Andrew’s United in Enderby.
The congregation have been inspired by Rev. Franklyn’s deep and steadfast faith, touched by his supportive pastoral care, and enjoyed his infectious smile and wonderful sense of humour. And all of this while he had to pivot to meet the demands of ministry during Covid.
At the end of June 2021 Rev. Franklyn left Zion and St. Andrews to go to Lynn Valley United Church in North Vancouver, and we wish him well in this new ministry.
Bell Ringing
It’s a tradition! Just before each Worship Service, a congregation member or a visitor are invited to ring the original brass bell in the steeple, and the melodic sound peals out over the city. This is a long-time favorite of “Zion Kids”.
When in person Worship was cancelled during Covid times, members and friends of Zion kept this tradition going. The sound of the bell ringing out over the town provided a tribute to the front-line workers and it provided assurance of God’s presence in these tough times.

Our Creed
Our Creed
We are not alone.
We live in God’s world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God’s presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us.
We are not alone. Thanks be to God!
